Oscar on SNES is one of those weird little platformers that feels like it got lost in the shuffle back in the day. You play as this little green dude (Oscar, I guess?) who bounces around levels collecting fruit while avoiding enemies—standard stuff, but the controls have this weird floatiness to them that takes some getting used to.
The first level throws you right into it: you’re hopping between floating platforms, dodging these angry-looking snails, and trying not to fall into pits. The music’s got that classic SNES charm, though—peppy and slightly repetitive in the way only ‘90s platformer soundtracks can be. Honestly, it’s not the best game on the system, but there’s something oddly charming about its janky physics and bright, simple graphics. If you’re into obscure retro platformers, it’s a decent time-waster.
