Onizuka Katsuya Super Virtual Boxing - Shin Kentou Ou Densetsu (japan) Game

This one's a weird little boxing gem on the SNES—definitely not your typical Punch-Out!! clone. You step into the ring as Onizuka Katsuya, but instead of fighting regular opponents, you're up against these bizarre, almost robotic-looking boxers with exaggerated moves. The controls take a second to click—dodging feels stiff at first, but once you get the timing down, landing a counter feels oddly satisfying.
What makes it stand out? The whole "virtual" gimmick. The ring has this digitized, glitchy aesthetic, and the fighters move in this jerky, unnatural way that somehow works. It’s not polished, but there’s charm in how janky some of the animations are. Also, good luck figuring out the menus if you don’t read Japanese—half the fun is guessing what each option does.
Not gonna lie, it’s niche, but if you’re into offbeat retro sports games, this one’s worth a round or two.
