About Oekaki Logic
Oekaki Logic came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995, published by Sunsoft. It was part of that later wave of SNES games, arriving when players were already familiar with the system's capabilities and looking for new kinds of puzzles. This one stood out simply by being a pure logic game in an era often defined by action and adventure.
You control a cursor, moving it across a grid to solve nonogram puzzles, also known as Picross. Your main objective is to reveal a hidden picture by carefully filling in or marking off squares based on numerical clues at the edges of the grid. The gameplay involves deduction; you cross-reference the row and column numbers to determine exactly which squares must be filled, often needing to mark spaces you know must remain empty. The difficulty ramps up steadily, starting with small 5x5 grids and eventually challenging you with much larger, more complex 15x15 puzzles that require considerable forward planning. It feels like quietly untangling a knot in your mind, one square at a time.
