Nontan To Issho - Kurukuru Puzzle is one of those weirdly charming SNES puzzle games that slipped under the radar. You’re basically spinning blocks to match colors, but the whole thing has this weirdly hypnotic rhythm—like Tetris if it got doused in pastel colors and Japanese children’s book characters.
The first few levels trick you into thinking it’s easy, then suddenly you’re frantically rotating pieces while the screen fills up with mismatched blocks. The music’s oddly cheerful for how stressful it gets, and Nontan (that little white cat thing) just stares at you the whole time, judging your mistakes.
It’s not the deepest puzzle game out there, but there’s something satisfying about the way the pieces click together. If you dig obscure 90s Japan-only releases, this one’s a fun little time capsule. Just don’t blame me when you get that chirpy theme song stuck in your head.
