Ninjawarriors on SNES is one of those weird, cool beat 'em ups that sticks with you. You pick between three robot ninjas—yeah, robot ninjas—and tear through a dystopian city to overthrow a dictator. No jumping between planes here, just pure side-scrolling chaos with way more balanced difficulty than the brutal arcade version.
It’s not quite up there with Turtles in Time or Streets of Rage, but it’s way more fun than the clunky early Final Fight ports. The cyborg ninja gimmick actually works, and smashing through waves of goons with exaggerated, screen-filling special moves never gets old. The soundtrack’s also a banger, all crunchy synths and punchy drums.
Definitely worth a play if you’re into weird retro action with a little extra style.
