About Nickelodeon Guts
Nickelodeon GUTS came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, published by Viacom New Media. It was one of many licensed games from that period, trying to capture the energy of the popular TV show on a 16-bit console. You got to play as one of the show's contestants, competing in a series of athletic and puzzle based events.
You control your character through a side scrolling world, running and jumping across platforms to reach the goal in each stage. The main objective is to complete all the events and collect pieces of the glowing rock, the Aggro Crag. The gameplay mixes standard platforming with event specific mechanics; some stages have you racing on a skateboard, dodging obstacles, while others are pure agility tests on moving platforms. The difficulty can be sharp, with some jumps requiring precise timing. It feels like a condensed version of the show's physical challenges, translated into button presses and pixel perfect landings.
