Okay, so New Yatterman - Nandai Kandai Yajirobee is one of those late-era SNES games that flew under the radar—probably because it never left Japan. It's based on the classic Yatterman anime, but don't worry if you're not familiar with the show. You basically play as Yatterman-1 and Yatterman-2, running and gunning through side-scrolling stages with some seriously chunky 16-bit sprites.
First thing you'll notice? The controls are stiff in that old-school way—jumping feels a little heavy, and your shots have this weird delay. But once you get used to it, there's something satisfying about plowing through enemies with your Yatter Wings (which, by the way, look ridiculous in the best way). The bosses are these giant mechs straight out of the anime, and the music’s got that upbeat, slightly cheesy '90s action vibe.
It’s not the deepest game, but if you’re into obscure SNES titles or just want a quick nostalgia hit, it’s got charm. Just don’t expect a hidden gem—more like a weird little time capsule.
