About Nhlpa Hockey '93 (europe)
NHLPA Hockey '93 came out for the Super Nintendo in 1992, published by Electronic Arts. It was the second hockey game from EA on the system, though it didn't have the full NHL license. You got all the real player names and city names, just without the official league branding. It arrived when sports games were starting to feel more authentic on the 16-bit consoles.
You control a five man unit on the ice, skating up and down the rink. The main goal is to outscore the other team by shooting the puck into the net. A couple of its key mechanics are the one timer pass and shot, which lets you fire the puck immediately after a pass, and the ability to make big body checks to separate opponents from the puck. The game moves at a fast pace, and the difficulty comes from the aggressive computer opponents who can quickly turn a mistake into a goal. It feels fluid and responsive when you connect on a pass and bury a one timer into the top corner.
