About Nba Jam (europe)
NBA Jam came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, a conversion handled by Iguana Entertainment. It was a time when arcade sports games were finding a solid home on consoles, and this one stood out immediately on the SNES.
You control a team of two NBA players, running up and down the court in two-on-two matches. The main goal is simple: outscore the other team before the clock runs out. The game's signature mechanics are what make it. You can perform turbo-charged dashes for a burst of speed, and after a few consecutive baskets, your player catches fire, granting unlimited turbo and the ability to make absurd, leaping dunks from halfway across the court. The pacing is relentlessly fast, with a difficulty that escalates quickly as you face teams with sharper AI. It feels like pure, chaotic fun from the moment you pick up the controller.
