About Nba Jam - Tournament Edition
NBA Jam Tournament Edition came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995, published by Midway. It was a time when arcade sports games were a big deal on home consoles, and this one was a direct port of the popular arcade machine. You got the same fast paced, two on two basketball action that felt right at home on the SNES controller.
You pick a team and control one of two players on the court, switching between them on the fly. The main goal is to outscore the other team, but the real fun is in how you do it. You can perform turbo charged dunks that shatter the backboard, go on fire after making a few baskets in a row, and shove opponents to steal the ball. The game moves incredibly fast, with a difficulty that ramps up quickly against later teams who play much tougher defense. It feels like pure, chaotic fun from the second the ball is tipped off until the final buzzer.
