About Nba Jam - Tournament Edition (europe)
NBA Jam Tournament Edition came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995, developed by Midway. It was one of those games that felt like a direct arcade port, bringing the loud, fast paced basketball action home. On the SNES, it stood out with its big digitized player sprites and the over the top commentary.
You control a team of two NBA players, running up and down the court in two on two matches. The main goal is to outscore your opponent, but the real fun comes from the exaggerated mechanics. You can perform turbo boosted dunks from halfway across the court, and if you make several shots in a row without the other team scoring, your player catches on fire. This "on fire" mode lets you shoot from anywhere with a high chance of success. The game moves at a breakneck speed, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as you face teams with better defense and more aggressive offense. It feels like pure, chaotic fun where every possession can turn into a highlight reel play.
