About Nba Jam - Majerle
NBA Jam came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by Midway. It was one of those games that felt like it belonged in an arcade, but having it at home on the SNES changed how we played. You could just pick it up for a quick game without needing quarters, which made it a staple during that era of 16-bit consoles.
You control a team of two NBA players, like Dan Majerle, with the main goal being to outscore the other team. The gameplay is fast and exaggerated; you perform turbo-boosted dunks, shove opponents to steal the ball, and the announcer famously shouts "Boomshakalaka!" after a spectacular play. The game moves at a breakneck pace, and the difficulty ramps up as the computer opponents become more aggressive, often leading to frantic, high-scoring matches. It feels chaotic and immediate, like you are right in the middle of a playground game where anything can happen.
