About Mystery Circle
Mystery Circle came out for the Super Nintendo in 1992 from a company called Open System. It was one of those action platformers that felt right at home on the system, with colorful graphics and a straightforward premise that didn't try to reinvent the wheel.
You control a young adventurer exploring a large, interconnected world screen by screen. The main goal is to find the scattered pieces of a powerful artifact, which requires you to delve into dungeons and overcome environmental puzzles. Combat is simple; you use a sword for close encounters and a bow for hitting distant switches or enemies. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be sharp in some areas, demanding careful observation and timing. Playing it feels like slowly uncovering a map you have to draw yourself.
