Mr. Nutz is one of those SNES platformers that feels like it should’ve been way more famous than it was. You play as this little red squirrel in sneakers and a cap—yeah, he’s got drip—bouncing on enemies and hopping through these bright, cartoony levels. It’s got that classic 90s platformer vibe where everything’s just a little floaty, but in a way that makes you feel like you’re gliding through the trees.
First level throws you right into it—springy jumps, weird little critters to stomp, and these hidden areas that make you wonder if you missed something. The controls take a second to get used to, but once you do, it’s weirdly satisfying to just bounce around. Also, the music? Surprisingly catchy for a game about a squirrel in gloves.
It’s not the hardest platformer out there, but there’s something charming about how unapologetically 90s it is. If you’re into that era of SNES games, this one’s a solid time-waster.
