About Monster Maker Iii - Hikari No Majutsushi
Monster Maker III: Hikari No Majutsushi came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1996, published by Sofel. It was part of that later wave of SNES games, arriving when many players were already looking ahead to newer consoles. This particular title is the third in a series that never really broke through in the West, so discovering it always felt like finding a curious artifact from that era.
You control a young magician on a quest to become a master monster tamer. Your main goal is to explore the world, screen by screen, and delve into dungeons to gather the pieces of the Triforce. The signature mechanics involve capturing monsters you encounter, then training and fusing them to create more powerful allies for your party. Combat is turn based, letting you strategically command your assembled creatures. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be unforgiving if you don't properly manage your team.
