Militia (japan) Game

Militia on the SNES is one of those weird little Japan-only strategy games that slipped under the radar. You’re basically commanding a squad of soldiers through turn-based battles—think Fire Emblem but with way less polish and more jank. The sprites are tiny, the menus are confusing if you don’t read Japanese, and the difficulty spikes hard after the first few missions.
Still, there’s something oddly charming about it. The terrain actually matters (archers on hills wreck people), and some units have weird hidden abilities that make experimenting fun. Just don’t expect a smooth ride—this is more of a "I dug through retro forums to find this" kind of game. If you’re into obscure 16-bit strategy, it’s a neat time capsule.
