Okay, so this is one of those classic SNES beat 'em ups where you pick your favorite Power Ranger—Jason, Zack, Billy, Trini, or Kimberly—and start smashing through waves of Putties. The first level feels like a warm-up, but once you morph into your Ranger form halfway through, the combat gets way more satisfying. Suddenly you’ve got a sword, or daggers, or whatever weapon matches your color, and the screen fills with flashier moves.
Natsume nailed the arcade-style action here—enemies swarm you, but combos and special attacks keep things from feeling too repetitive. The sprites are chunky and colorful, exactly how you’d want a 16-bit Power Rangers game to look. It’s not the deepest fighter out there, but if you grew up with the show, there’s something weirdly fun about kicking Rita’s minions into oblivion.
Just don’t expect a long campaign—this is pure Saturday morning nostalgia in cartridge form.
