Okay, so picture this: Michael Jordan—yes, that Michael Jordan—suddenly trading his jersey for a superhero role, bouncing through Chicago like some kind of basketball-powered action hero. That’s Chaos in the Windy City in a nutshell. It’s weird, it’s wild, and somehow, it totally works.
You start off jumping across rooftops, dodging weirdo enemies (some of them straight-up robots?), and dunking on bad guys like it’s a sport-meets-platformer fever dream. The controls feel a little stiff at first—this is an SNES game—but once you get the hang of tossing basketballs like projectiles, it’s stupidly satisfying. And yeah, the pixel art? Pure ‘90s nostalgia, right down to MJ’s exaggerated dunk animations.
It’s not perfect—some of the platforming can be janky, and the difficulty spikes out of nowhere—but there’s something charming about how unapologetically bizarre it is. If you ever wanted to see Jordan spin-dunk a giant mutant rat, this is your game.
