About Metal Warriors
Metal Warriors came out in 1995 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, developed and published by LucasArts. It was part of that later wave of SNES games that really pushed what the hardware could do visually, with big, detailed sprites and a gritty sci-fi look that stood out among the platform's usual fantasy fare.
You pilot a selection of powerful mechs, each with unique weapons and abilities, fighting through side-scrolling stages. Your main goal is to stop a terrorist group from destroying Earth. The core loop involves navigating screen by screen, blasting enemy robots and vehicles, and often switching your mech on the fly to adapt to new threats. A defining feature is the one-on-one versus mode, where you could eject from a destroyed mech and continue fighting on foot, trying to hijack your opponent's machine.
