About Mechwarrior (spain)
MechWarrior on the Super Nintendo came out in 1993 from Activision. It was one of the few games on the system that tried to bring a serious simulation of piloting a giant robot to a console better known for platformers and RPGs. You got a different kind of experience, one focused on managing a machine rather than a character.
You control a BattleMech pilot, taking on contracts from a computer terminal to earn credits. The main goal is to complete these missions, which usually involve destroying enemy 'Mechs or defending a base, to build your reputation and upgrade your machine. Signature mechanics include navigating 3D polygonal terrain from a first-person cockpit view and managing your 'Mech's heat levels; firing too many weapons too quickly causes you to overheat and shut down. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty is unforgiving, as a few solid hits can cripple your 'Mech. It feels like you are wrestling with a massive, powerful machine that could fall apart at any moment.
