Mecarobot Golf is one of those weird, wonderful SNES sports games that shouldn’t work but totally does. You’ve got these clunky little robots teeing off on these wild, futuristic courses—some holes have floating platforms, others have weird gravity shifts. It’s golf, but not as your grandpa remembers it.
The controls are simple enough—three-click swing meter, basic power adjustments—but the real fun comes from figuring out how to use your robot’s abilities. Some have stronger drives, others handle rough terrain better. I kept picking the bulky one at first, but turns out the lighter models are way better for precision shots.
And the music? Pure 16-bit charm. It’s got that upbeat, slightly cheesy synth soundtrack that just fits. If you dig old-school sports games with a twist, this one’s a blast. Just don’t blame me when you spend an hour trying to nail that one stupid hole on the lunar course.
