Marvel Super Heroes - War of the Gems is one of those classic Capcom beat 'em ups that somehow flew under the radar. It's got that unmistakable 90s Marvel vibe—bright colors, chunky sprites, and Wolverine looking like he skipped leg day. You pick from five heroes (Cap, Iron Man, Wolvie, Spider-Man, or Hulk) and punch your way through Thanos' goons across weirdly detailed SNES stages.
What's cool is how each character actually feels different—Hulk smashes through everything like a tank, while Spidey's all about bouncing off walls. The bosses are the real highlight though, with guys like Juggernaut and Doctor Doom showing up to wreck your day. Just don't expect deep storytelling—it's basically "Thanos has gems, go punch stuff." Still, the combo system keeps it fun when you're juggling enemies in midair.
It's not as polished as the arcade Marvel fighters, but there's something charming about its janky, comic-book chaos.
