Marvel Super Heroes - War of the Gems is one of those classic Capcom beat 'em ups for the SNES that feels like it got lost in time. You pick from five heroes—Wolverine, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, or Hulk—and brawl through levels packed with familiar Marvel villains. The controls are tight, and each character plays totally different—Wolverine shreds with his claws, while Hulk just smashes everything in sight.
It’s got that 90s comic book vibe, with Thanos as the big bad (way before the movies made him mainstream). The levels are short but punchy, and the sprite work still holds up. My only gripe? Some of the platforming can be janky, especially with the Hulk’s weird jump arc. Still, if you’re into retro Marvel games, this one’s a solid pick.
