Mario's Search For The 8 Jewels Game

Okay, so this is one of those obscure Mario ROM hacks that popped up years ago—definitely not official, but weirdly charming in its janky way. You’re basically thrown into this sprawling, kinda messy overworld where Mario’s hunting down eight jewels (because of course he is). The levels are all over the place—some feel like stripped-down versions of actual Mario stages, others are just… bizarre, like someone threw in random enemies and called it a day.
First thing you’ll notice? The physics are off. Mario slides a bit too much, jumps feel floaty, and sometimes you’ll bonk your head on blocks that look like they should be passable. But hey, if you’ve played enough SNES hacks, you learn to roll with it. The music’s a mix of familiar tunes and weird midi rips that loop way too soon.
It’s not great, but there’s something oddly compelling about digging through these cobbled-together levels, like sifting through a garage sale for hidden treasure. Just don’t go in expecting polished Nintendo magic.
