Mario Brothers Adventures (demo 2) is one of those obscure SNES romhacks that feels like stumbling onto a lost prototype. It's got that classic Mario look, but the level designs are just different enough to throw you off—like someone remixed the original game in their basement. The controls are tight, but some of the jumps are brutal, and I swear the Goombas move faster here.

You start off in a familiar grassy world, but by the second stage, the pipes start leading to weird places, and the coins are placed in spots that make you pause. It’s not polished like an official release, but that’s part of the charm. If you’ve played every Mario game to death, this might scratch that itch for something just a little unpredictable.
