About Majin Tensei Ii - Spiral Nemesis
Majin Tensei II: Spiral Nemesis came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995, developed and published by Atlus. It was part of that later SNES era when developers were really pushing the hardware with more complex, often darker, strategy games. This one definitely fit that description, offering a turn-based tactical experience that felt quite different from the more common fantasy RPGs of the time.
You control a party of human characters and their recruited demons across grid-based maps, engaging in turn-based combat where positioning is everything. Your main goal is to survive a post-apocalyptic Tokyo and confront the forces behind the catastrophe. Key mechanics include negotiating with demons to make them join your side and a demon fusion system to create more powerful allies. The pace is deliberate, and the difficulty is significant, demanding careful planning for every move. Playing it feels like solving a difficult, constantly shifting puzzle where a single misstep can have serious consequences.
