Okay, so Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse is one of those classic SNES platformers that’s way more fun than it has any right to be. You start off chasing Pluto through this bright, cartoony forest—then bam, Pete snatches him, and suddenly you’re jumping between floating candy clouds and dodging fireballs in a wizard robe. Yeah, the costumes are the best part. Swap between a firefighter outfit to blast water, a mountain climber’s hook to swing around—it’s simple but weirdly satisfying.
The controls are snappy, the music’s got that classic Capcom charm, and some of the later levels get surprisingly creative (wait till you see the giant cake stage). It’s not super hard, but there’s just enough challenge to keep it from feeling like a kiddie game. If you’ve got nostalgia for 90s Disney or just want a solid platformer with some fun gimmicks, this one holds up.
