Madden 95 on SNES is one of those classics that still holds up if you're into old-school football games. You get all the 1994 NFL teams, plus those goofy "All-Madden" squads if you want to mix things up. The first thing you'll notice is how much cleaner the animations are compared to earlier versions—QBs actually slide now instead of just flopping over, and watching your running back high-step into the endzone never gets old.

Weather’s optional this time, which is nice because playing in a blizzard is fun until your receiver slips on an icy patch for the third straight play. The field feels bigger too, so those long bombs actually have room to develop. And yeah, injuries are brutal—over 100 ways for your star player to get wrecked, which somehow makes it more satisfying when you limp through a season with half your starters in casts.

Passing feels smoother with the windowless system, and the new team match-up screen is weirdly addicting—nothing like seeing your third-string linebacker get absolutely roasted by the opponent’s ratings before the game even starts. It’s not perfect, but for a 16-bit football sim, it’s way deeper than it has any right to be.
