Okay, so "Luigi's Adventure - Adventure of Phantasm World" is one of those SNES games that feels like it crawled out of a time capsule. You know that slightly janky but charming vibe old-school platformers have? This one nails it. Luigi moves with that classic floaty jump, and the levels are packed with weird little enemies—some take two hits, others just bounce around being annoying.
The first level throws you right into it: dodging spiky plants, figuring out which blocks are solid (because of course some aren’t), and collecting coins like they actually matter. The music’s got that tinny SNES charm, all bouncy and repetitive in the best way. And yeah, the puzzles are simple at first, but by world 2, you’ll be backtracking to find keys or hitting switches in the right order.
It’s not perfect—some jumps feel unfair until you memorize the layout—but that’s part of the retro appeal. If you’ve got a soft spot for Mario’s lankier brother and games that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t blame me when you get stuck on that one boss that spits fireballs in a pattern you swear wasn’t there last time.
