Lufia II is one of those SNES RPGs that flew under the radar back in the day, which is a shame because it's got way more personality than most. You play as Maxim, a monster hunter with a serious sword and an even more serious case of destiny—this is a prequel, after all, so you know things aren't going to end well. The dungeons are packed with puzzles that actually make you think (none of that mindless "push the block once" stuff), and the turn-based battles have this weirdly satisfying rhythm to them.
This particular version is a hack—Relnqshd tweaked some stuff, and Fixxxer Deluxe apparently polished it further. No idea what exactly got changed, but if you've played the original, it's worth a look just to see what's different. The Sinistrals are still ridiculously dramatic villains, the music slaps, and that one twist near the end? Yeah, it still hurts.
Just don't expect modern QoL features—this is pure '90s RPG, for better or worse.
