About Love Quest
Love Quest came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995 from KSS. It was part of that wave of late SNES games that tried to do something a bit different, moving away from pure action and into more of an adventure. You don't see many people talk about it now, but it had its own little corner of the library.
You control a young man named Kaito, and your goal is to rescue a princess by gathering the scattered pieces of a mystical crest. The game plays out screen by screen, with you exploring towns, talking to people for clues, and navigating multi-floor dungeons. Combat is simple; you use a sword for close encounters and a bow for hitting enemies from a distance. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, and some of the later puzzles can be quite difficult without a guide. It feels like a quiet, thoughtful journey where your patience is constantly tested.
