Little Magic on SNES is one of those weird little RPGs that slipped under the radar back in the day—but it’s got this cozy, offbeat charm. You start as this tiny wizard (like, literally small—your sprite’s adorable) wandering through these bright, slightly surreal forests and towns where everyone talks in riddles. The magic system’s the cool part: instead of just picking spells from a menu, you mix these elemental orbs, and half the fun is seeing what bizarre combo actually works. (Tried fire + water expecting steam… got a fish. No idea.)

It’s janky in that very ’90s way—some translations are nonsense, and good luck figuring out where to go without talking to every NPC twice—but that’s kinda the appeal. The music’s all plinky synths and sudden flute solos, and the battles? Weirdly strategic once you realize some enemies just fold if you hit them with, like, a bread spell. Found my old cartridge in a box last year and fell right back into its weird little world. If you dig obscure SNES RPGs with personality, this one’s a trip.
