Man, The Lion King on SNES takes me back. It's one of those classic Disney platformers that looks gorgeous—like the movie come to life—but man, it doesn’t go easy on you. You start off as young Simba, hopping across logs and dodging rhinos in the stampede level (which, by the way, is way harder than kid-me ever expected). The animation’s smooth, the music’s pure nostalgia, and those jungle backgrounds? Still hold up.
Later, you get to play as adult Simba, which feels way more powerful—swiping at hyenas, tossing them off cliffs. But those monkey-swinging sections? Brutal. One mistimed jump and you’re starting over. It’s got that old-school challenge where you’ll probably yell at the screen a few times, but nailing a tough section feels so good. Definitely a love-hate relationship with this one.
If you’re into retro platformers, this is a must-play—just maybe keep a walkthrough handy for the waterfall level.
