Oh man, The Lion King on SNES—this one takes me back. It's a side-scroller where you play as Simba from cub to full-grown lion, jumping across vines, dodging hyenas, and tossing little Timon-style meerkats at enemies (weirdly satisfying). The animation holds up surprisingly well for a 16-bit game, with those lush jungle backgrounds and that iconic "Circle of Life" intro.
First level? You're immediately thrown into the stampede scene, which is way harder than kid-me remembered. The controls take some getting used to—Simba's jumps feel floaty at first, but once you get the hang of bouncing off ostrich heads and crocodile tails, it clicks. Pro tip: Hold down to pounce farther. Took me way too long to figure that out.
Soundtrack's full of bangers too, though the "Can't Wait to Be King" level will test your patience with those pesky monkeys. Still one of the better Disney-to-game adaptations out there.
