Light Fantasy is one of those SNES RPGs that never got the hype it deserved. You start off in this cozy little village with that classic 16-bit charm—think warm colors, chirpy music, and NPCs who actually have personality. The first time I played, I spent way too long just talking to everyone because the dialogue’s got this lighthearted wit to it.

Combat’s turn-based but snappy, and your party members all feel distinct—like, the mage isn’t just a glass cannon; she’s got these weird utility spells that actually come in handy. Dungeons are packed with little environmental puzzles, nothing too brutal, but enough to make you feel clever when you figure them out. And yeah, the sprite work? Still holds up. There’s a dungeon later with these floating islands where the parallax scrolling just *chef’s kiss*.

It’s not some hidden masterpiece, but if you’re into SNES-era RPGs with heart, this one’s a solid weekend playthrough.
