Ever played a game where the hero is just some scrawny, glasses-wearing dude who looks like he'd rather be reading a book? That's Lester. You start off watching this guy get stranded on a jungle island after his cruise goes sideways, and suddenly he's dodging snakes, jumping over pits, and—somehow—learning to fight. The controls take a second to get used to (Lester trips over his own feet if you're not careful), but that's part of the charm.
The jungle's packed with weird little details—monkeys throw fruit at you, vines snap if you hang too long, and Lester's terrified yelp when he falls is weirdly endearing. It's janky in that classic SNES way, but there's something about guiding this underdog through ridiculous situations that sticks with you. Just don't expect him to move like Mario.
If you dig obscure '90s platformers with personality, Lester's awkward adventure is worth dusting off the SNES for.
