About Lemmings
Lemmings came to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, developed by DMA Design. It was one of those games that felt distinct from the platformers and action titles dominating the system at the time. You were given a puzzle to solve, not a world to run through.
You don't control the lemmings directly; instead, you assign jobs to them as they march mindlessly forward. Your goal is to guide a certain number of these little creatures from the entrance to the exit of each stage. You do this by giving them specific skills, like digging, building stairs, or blocking the path to turn the crowd around. The challenge comes from managing your limited number of these skill assignments while the clock, represented by the relentless parade of lemmings, keeps ticking. It feels like a frantic, miniature logistics puzzle where a single misplaced action can lead to a chain reaction of failure.
