Last Action Hero on SNES is basically what happens when you take Arnold Schwarzenegger's ridiculous action movie and cram it into a 16-bit side-scroller. You play as Jack Slater (Arnie's character), running through levels that loosely follow the movie—except everything's way more pixelated and the one-liners are reduced to text boxes. The controls are a little stiff, but you get to punch thugs, swing from ropes, and occasionally hop into a cartoonish cop car to mow down bad guys.
It’s got that classic 90s movie tie-in vibe—some levels feel rushed, others weirdly creative, like when you’re suddenly dodging giant pencils in a cartoon world. The music’s decent, though, and there’s something oddly satisfying about pixel-Arnie roundhouse-kicking his way through a neon-lit city. Not the best licensed game out there, but if you’re nostalgic for the movie or love janky SNES action, it’s a fun time.
