Kuusou Kagaku Sekai Gulliver Boy is one of those weird, mid-90s SNES games that feels like it got lost in translation—literally. It's based on an anime I'd never heard of, but hey, the pixel art's actually pretty nice. You run around as this kid with a sword, slashing at weird monsters and jumping between floating islands. The controls are a little stiff, but there's something charming about how over-the-top the animations are when you attack.
First ten minutes? You'll probably get smacked around by some flying enemies because the hitboxes are... questionable. But once you get the hang of it, there's a weirdly satisfying rhythm to the combat. Also, the music slaps—typical SNES-era synth with way more energy than the gameplay deserves. Not a hidden gem, but definitely a curiosity if you're into obscure anime tie-ins.
