About Krusty's World (japan)
Krusty's World was a Japan only release for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by the team at Visual Concepts. It came out during that period when licensed games, especially ones based on Western properties, were a common sight on the console, and this one took its inspiration from The Simpsons.
You control Krusty the Clown through a series of side scrolling platforming stages. Your main goal is simply to reach the exit of each level, navigating past various enemies and environmental hazards. The gameplay involves a lot of jumping between platforms; Krusty can throw pies as a projectile attack to defeat foes like giant rats and angry chefs. A signature mechanic is the way you explore the levels screen by screen, with each new area loading in as you move. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be unforgiving with precise jumps required over bottomless pits. Playing it feels like a straightforward, if sometimes clunky, trip through a cartoon world.
