Kirby's Dream Land 3 on SNES is one of those games that just oozes charm. Right from the start, you're thrown into this soft, pastel-colored world that looks like it was pulled straight from a children's book—everything's got this cozy, hand-drawn feel to it. And Kirby? Still as ridiculously cute as ever, floating around and sucking up enemies like a vacuum with legs.
The animal buddies are the real stars here, though. You can ride on a fish that shoots bubbles, hop on an owl that lets you glide, or team up with this weird little blob thing that sticks to walls. Some of them feel way more useful than others (I still don’t get the point of the hamster), but figuring out which ones work best for each level is half the fun.
It’s not the hardest Kirby game—more of a relaxed, cheerful platformer where you can just vibe with the music and soak in the art. But don’t let that fool you; some of those later puzzles get sneaky, especially if you’re trying to 100% it. The whole thing just feels like a warm hug in video game form.
If you’ve ever wanted to play a game where you turn into a fridge to solve puzzles, this is your chance.
