About Kirby's Ghost Trap
Kirby's Ghost Trap came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995, developed by HAL Laboratory. It was part of that wave of puzzle games on the SNES that felt different from the usual platformers and RPGs. You got a lot of these quirky, thoughtful games back then, and this one fit right in.
You control Kirby, but instead of running and jumping, you slide him around single screen puzzle rooms. The main goal is to trap all the ghosts on each stage by pushing blocks to encircle them. Your main tools are the blocks themselves; you can push them one space at a time to create containment boxes. If you trap yourself or leave a ghost a way out, you have to reset the room. The game starts simple but the puzzles get surprisingly tricky, demanding you plan several moves ahead. It feels like a quiet, focused test of your foresight.
