King's Table The Legend of Ragnarok is a digital board game released in 1993 for MS-DOS. Developed by Imagitec Design Inc. and published by Mirage Technologies (Multimedia) Ltd., it is based on an old Norse board game known as King's Table. The game presents its action from a top-down perspective on a ten by ten grid, featuring three-dimensional graphics and animated pieces.

Players control one of two asymmetric teams, black or white, each with a distinct objective. The white team consists of thirteen pieces, with the central figure being Odin the King, who moves like a king in chess. The opposing black team fields twenty pawns and four other special pieces. The primary goal for the white player is to maneuver Odin to one of the board's four corner squares. Conversely, the black player aims to win by completely surrounding Odin on all four adjacent sides. Progression is turn-based, with players alternating moves to achieve their respective victory conditions.

Movement and capture mechanics form the core gameplay systems. While Odin moves one square in any direction, the pawns move any number of squares orthogonally or diagonally, similar to a chess queen. Capturing is performed not by displacement but by surrounding an opponent's piece. Most pieces are captured when flanked on two opposing sides, though certain special pieces require being surrounded on three sides. These special pieces, selected at the start of a match, possess unique abilities, some of which are inspired by traditional chess. The game's structure revolves around strategic positioning, piece protection, and the tactical use of these special units to either escort Odin to safety or trap him.
