King of the Monsters 2 is one of those SNES games that makes you feel like you're smashing through a city like a kaiju on a caffeine rush. You pick from these beefed-up superheroes—each with their own ridiculous wrestling moves—and just go to town on giant monsters trying to wreck everything. The first time I played, I went with the cyborg guy because, well, lasers. Big mistake. Turns out the brute with the atomic breath is way more satisfying when you're pile-driving enemies into skyscrapers.
It's not deep, but who cares? The screen shakes, buildings crumble, and sometimes you just need to suplex a 50-foot mutant into the ocean. The pixel art holds up, too—those explosions are gloriously chunky. If you ever wanted a Saturday morning cartoon version of Godzilla with more elbow drops, this is it.
