King of Dragons is one of those classic SNES beat 'em ups from Capcom that just nails the fantasy vibe. You pick from five characters—fighter, cleric, elf, dwarf, or wizard—and hack your way through hordes of orcs, dragons, and other monsters. The fighter’s your basic tank, but I always go for the elf because those rapid-fire arrows feel so satisfying when you’re swarmed.
It’s got that classic arcade feel with RPG-lite leveling—you earn XP, upgrade your stats, and find better gear as you go. The levels scroll sideways like you’d expect, but the boss fights are where it really shines. That first dragon encounter? Brutal if you don’t dodge the fire breath. The music’s pure 16-bit fantasy cheese, and honestly, it still holds up.
Definitely a solid couch co-op pick if you’ve got a friend who doesn’t mind spamming attack buttons for an hour.
