Okay, so King Arthur & The Knights Of Justice on SNES is basically what happens if you take Arthurian legend and throw in a football team from the future. Yeah, it’s weird—but weird in that fun, early '90s way where nobody questioned why knights had shoulder pads.
You start off picking your knight (I always went with Lancelot because, come on, he’s got the speed), and then it’s straight into side-scrolling action. Swords clank, enemies explode into little pixelated puffs, and sometimes you just ride a horse through a castle smashing skeletons. The levels mix combat with light puzzle stuff—like pushing blocks or finding hidden switches—but nothing too brain-melting.
What’s cool is swapping between knights mid-game. Need to cross a gap? Switch to the guy with the grappling hook. Facing a boss? Maybe the knight with the shield bash works better. It’s janky in that old-SNES way, but it’s got charm. And that soundtrack? Pure medieval synth bangers.
Just don’t expect deep lore—this is more about whacking monsters with a sword while pretending you’re in a Saturday morning cartoon. Which, honestly, is all I wanted.
