Kikuni Masahiko No Jantoushi Doraou (japan) Game

Ever stumbled across one of those weird, Japan-only SNES games that makes you go "what is this?" That's Kikuni Masahiko no Jantoushi Doraou for you. It's a mahjong game—sort of. But with this bizarre, almost fever-dream presentation where the tiles have these exaggerated cartoon faces, and the whole thing feels like someone mixed traditional play with early '90s Japanese game show energy.
First time booting it up, you're hit with this garish color palette and these over-the-top character portraits yelling at you in untranslated Japanese. The actual mahjong part is solid if you know the rules, but half the fun is just soaking in how unapologetically strange it is. Definitely one of those "had to be there" SNES oddities.
If you're into obscure retro stuff or just love mahjong with a side of surrealism, this one’s a trip.
