Kidoukeisatsu Patlabor on SNES is one of those weird Japan-only mech games that never made it overseas. You pilot a Labor (basically a clunky, industrial mech) and handle police missions—some involve chasing down rogue robots, others are just routine patrols. The controls take some getting used to, since the mechs move like tanks, but there’s something satisfying about stomping around a futuristic Tokyo in heavy machinery.
Graphics are decent for the time, with chunky sprites and some cool explosion effects. The missions can get repetitive, but if you’re into mecha anime or just curious about obscure SNES titles, it’s a neat little time capsule. Definitely more of a niche pick than a must-play.
