Kid Adventure 4 - Kid Xtreme is one of those SNES platformers that nails the retro feel without feeling like a cheap knockoff. The first thing you’ll notice is the chunky pixel art—bright colors, exaggerated animations, and those classic "boing" sound effects when you jump on enemies. It’s got that early '90s charm, like someone mashed up Mega Man and Sonic but gave it a goofy, Saturday-morning-cartoon vibe.
The controls are tight, which is good because the levels throw some sneaky platforming at you right away. One minute you’re bouncing off mushrooms, the next you’re dodging spike traps while some weird disco-themed boss taunts you from the background. And yeah, the difficulty ramps up fast—those later stages don’t mess around.
If you grew up with a Super Nintendo, this’ll hit you right in the nostalgia. If you didn’t? It’s still a solid, chaotic platformer with way more personality than most modern indie throwbacks. Just don’t blame me when you get stuck on the ice level for an hour.
