Kid Adventure 3 on SNES is one of those games that just feels right if you grew up with a controller in your hands. You know the drill—jump on enemies, collect shiny things, and try not to fall into bottomless pits while some ridiculously catchy chiptune plays in the background.
What I love about this one is how it nails that classic platformer vibe without feeling like a cheap knockoff. The levels have this sneaky way of starting simple, then suddenly throwing weird little puzzles at you—like figuring out which blocks are fake or timing jumps just right to avoid those floating spike balls. And the art? Pure 16-bit charm, with bright colors and goofy character designs that somehow make dying for the tenth time less frustrating.
It’s not some hidden gem or anything, but if you miss the days when games didn’t hold your hand, this one’s a solid time capsule. Just don’t blame me when you start humming the level 1 theme for three days straight.
